MiuWave docs
Hear one language, read it in yours right away
MiuWave is a desktop app (built with Tauri) that translates speech in real time. It captures audio straight from your system or microphone, transcribes it and shows the translation in a compact window — with no server in between.
MiuWave is not released yet — coming soon.
Screenshots show the Vietnamese interface. This guide writes on-screen labels exactly as they appear in the app, followed by their English meaning, for example Cài đặt (Settings). Labels that are already English in the app are written as is.
What you can use MiuWave for
- Translate meetings, videos and podcasts playing on your computer (Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams, YouTube…), or speech through the microphone.
- Two-way translation for bilingual meetings: the app detects who is speaking and translates into the other language.
- Live Caption: large floating subtitles over any video, with click-through.
- Quick Translate for selected text (F2) and screenshot translation for text in images and slides (F3).
- AI Companion summarizes, explains and answers questions about what you just heard; Interview mode suggests answers.
- Read translations aloud (TTS) and keep every session in the Library, with export to
.md,.srtand.txt.

Privacy
Your audio never passes through a MiuWave server — because MiuWave has no server.
- The app connects directly to the services you configure yourself, with no middleman.
- You own your API keys; they are kept in the macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.
- No account, no telemetry, no analytics.
- Each session's transcript is saved on your computer.
